DofExpedition in the Atlas Mountains

Morocco is a very worthwhile destination for Duke of Edinburgh expeditions and for other adventurous projects. It is easy to reach from Europe, has an exotic atmosphere, good level of infrastructure, excellent opportunitites for community-based project work and residential periods and offers good trekking with mule support available.Our recommended programme is suitable for the summer holidays, includes a residential period suitable for working in local Berber communities, takes in the  through lot of berber villages, green valleys of Azzaden & Imnane.

Day 1: Imlil - Tachdirth
Day2: Tachdirth to Imsker
Day3: Imsker to Tizi oussem
Day4: Tizi oussem to Imlil

Extra Notes:

  • Prices quoted are per person, based on sharing a twin room/2 person tent (unless otherwise stated). Additional hotel or riad nights after trek from 25 EUR p.p. twin/35 EUR single.
  • Trek prices may vary depending of the season (High altitude Treks).

Accommodation during the Trek

Accommodation will be in hotel/riads in Marrakech , gites for the community projets and campings during the exped

NB : If accommodation is required in the Atlas Mountains either before or after the trek, we can always book you at our Guesthouse Dar Adrar in Imlil

Essential Equipment & Clothing:

  • Good walking boots and socks / good trainers
  • Personnel First aid Kit
  • 3 to 4 season sleeping bag
  • Day sack/backpack
  • Head torch / headlamp
  • Ice axe and crampons (winter)
  • Lightweight waterproof over-trousers / rain-pants
  • Water bottle or camel back (recommended)

Most of those equipment can be rented locally from our equipment shop in Imlil
