4x4 Off The Beaten Track
We include a drive across the barren ‘Marrakech desert’ of Agafay with a wonderful backdrop of High Atlas peaks, a visit to Lake Takerkoust and then a very scenic drive on a remote mountain road to the Azzaden Valley via Amizmiz. After a tasty local lunch Inside a Berber Home you’ll have time to explore the Berber hamlet of Tinzert on foot, relax and enjoy unrivalled views of the High Atlas mountains.
When ever you are ready you jump on your 4x4 and head back to Marrakech via Asni and Tahannaout.
This trek runs all year-round and can depart at any date of your preference.

All of our Mountain treks ca be combined with some other tours either to the sahara desert, Imperial cities or to the Atlantic coast,
Pick Up & Drop Off
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech city, many riads does not have access by car so the driver will park nearby and come to get you.
You will be dropped off at the nearest point to your riad/hotel, our driver can call your riad to meet you if needed.
Route Details
Day 01
High Atlas Day Trip to Agafay Desert, Lake Takerkoust & Tinzert Valley.
On this exciting day trip you’ll travel by 4×4 on an off-the-beaten-track Atlas circuit of scenic contrasts and experiences.
If your holiday time allows, take this tour on a day to coincide with a Berber market en route.

Personal baggage, cooking equipment and food are carried by the mules, leaving you to carry only a rucksack with whatever you need close at hand for the day. NB: Left luggage or unnecessary luggage can be left safely in our storage in Imlil till you come back from the trek.
