Ait Benhaddou & Ourzazate
Discover the dramatic landscapes of southern Morocco on a one-day shared tour from Marrakech to Ouarzazate and the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. Travel across the High Atlas Mountains and through spectacular mountain scenery, valleys and traditional Berber villages before reaching Ouarzazate, often known as the gateway to the Sahara.
The tour also includes a visit to Ait Benhaddou, Morocco’s best-known fortified village and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore its historic kasbahs and atmospheric narrow streets before continuing your journey through the stunning landscapes of the Ouarzazate region.

Pick Up & Drop Off
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech city, many riads don't have access via car so the driver will park nearby and come to get you.
You will be dropped off at the nearest point to your riad/hotel. Our driver can call your riad to meet you if needed.
Route Details
Day 01
Imlil & Toubkal Valley
Depart Marrakech at 7.00am for a full-day excursion to Ouarzazate and the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, returning to Marrakech at approximately 6.00pm. The journey takes you across the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy panoramic views, dramatic mountain landscapes and traditional Berber villages along the way.
After around three hours of driving, arrive at Ait Benhaddou, an ancient fortified village and one of Morocco’s most impressive historic sites. Take time to explore its atmospheric kasbahs and winding streets before continuing towards Ouarzazate.
Known as the ‘Hollywood of Morocco’, Ouarzazate is a popular filming location and has been used as a backdrop for numerous international and Hollywood productions. During your visit, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the city, discover its kasbahs and admire the surrounding landscapes. Depending on the day, you may also have the chance to visit one of the local film studios, where you can enjoy lunch or a coffee at the studio café.
Ouarzazate has featured in films including Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Living Daylights (1987), The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), The Mummy (1999), Gladiator (2000), Kingdom of Heaven (2005), Kundun (1997), Legionnaire (1998), Hanna (2011) and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2011). With spectacular scenery, historic kasbahs and a fascinating film-making heritage, there is plenty to see and experience throughout the day.

Personal baggage, cooking equipment and food are carried by the mules, leaving you to carry only a rucksack with whatever you need close at hand for the day. NB: Left luggage or unnecessary luggage can be left safely in our storage in Imlil till you come back from the trek.
