Fes To Marrakech Via The Sahara
Erg Chebbi is a dune field of about 22 Km from north to south and about 5 Km from east to west at the widest point. The highest dune, 884 m, is in the north. Among the dunes there are several oasis and you can easily get water just by digging a little. The trip to the oasis starts with a long route by road which is an experience itself geographically speaking, and also because of the numerous stops to cool down and get in contact with the people.
This trek runs all year-round and can depart at any date of your preference.

This trek is available to be booked independently (including transfers from Marrakech) or we can put together a full itinerary and quote to combine your trek with any of Marrakech, Essaouira, The Atlantic Coast and Sahara Desert

Pick Up & Drop Off
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech city, many riads does not have access by car so the driver will park nearby and come to get you.
You will be dropped off at the nearest point to your riad/hotel, our driver can call your riad to meet you if needed.
Route Details
Day 01
Fez – Ziz Valley – Erg Chebbi Desert
After having breakfast departure to Merzouga by Ifrane, Azrou and cedros’s forest of the monkeys. Then we will continue by Ziz’s valley and Tafilalet palms tress. In the afternoon we will arrive to Merzouga, where we will ride our camels to arrive to the desert sand dunes, to spend the night in a nomad tent - 9hours drive
Day 02
Merzouga – Khamlia – Rissani – Merzouga.
Get up to an amazing aurora in the arid and adore breakfast before we come back by camel to the hotel for a bath. We will accomplish an ambit of the desert dunes area you will accept the befalling to see the marvelous alteration contrasts of the the desert. We will see the ‘black village’ of Khamlia to listen to the Gnawa musicians before taking an ancestral Berber pizza for lunch in the old capital of Rissani. After lunch again we will go back to Merzouga area you will terminate into your hotel and calm overnight.
Day 03
Merzouga – Dades’ Gorges
We will wake up early to have breakfast and we will go to Erfoud. Then we will continue by Tinjdad and todra gorge palm plantations, and then we will visit Toudra gorge. After having lunch departure to Dades Boumalne by Dades’ valley. 6hours drive
Day 04
Dade’s Gorges – Rose’s Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After having breakfast we are going around Dades’ valley, then departure to Ouarzazate by Roses’s valley and Kelaa Mgouna, after that we will drive to Skoura to visit Amredile’s kashbah. In the afternoon we will continue to Marrakech via Tizi N’Tichka arriving in evening to your accommodation. 7 hours drive

What Is Appropriate Attire In Morocco?
Morocco is a conservative and religious country, which means you always need to be mindful of your clothing choices. This is especially true in the country’s more rural areas, which include the Sahara Desert and its surrounding villages. As a general rule of thumb, you should always attempt to cover body parts considered “private”. For women, this means covering the arms (or at least the shoulders) and the knees up. For men, it requires covering up the shoulders and above the knee.
High Energy Meals
Meals on the trek are cooked by the Berber muleteers. The food is fresh and healthy. Example meals:
Breakfast: Jam, bread, cookies, fruit, juice, butter, coffee, milkLunch: salad, tomatoes, carrots, lentils, beans, rice or pasta, fish (sardines, tuna), seasonal fruit
Dinner: Soup, classic Morooccan tajine, couscous, olives, nuts, fruit

Personal baggage, cooking equipment and food are carried by the mules, leaving you to carry only a rucksack with whatever you need close at hand for the day. NB: Left luggage or unnecessary luggage can be left safely in our storage in Imlil till you come back from the trek.
